Well, September is upon us and the heat is abating (granted, it was a mild Summer). That means my favorite time of year is coming up- Fall! The air gets cooler and dryer, the food gets richer and heartier and the days get shorter.
What's more important, Halloween is drawing nearer! I luvs me some good scary fun! Right now, the haunted forests, mills and houses are gearing up, getting ready for the tons of $$ they'll make scaring people with rubber masks and chainless(?) chainsaws! YES! Then there are the kids things like hay rides, bobbing for apples and picking out pumpkins. Coffee shops will be selling Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Pumkin Scones. Cathy will be making yummy fall food and ginger molasses cookies :D
The countryside will start turning hues of red, yellow and orange. and the air cools and drys. Perfect for hiking and biking. Harpers Ferry is a wonderful place to visit this time of year- something the fam and I will have to do!
